The recent uproar in the Indian news media and caste infected Indians regarding building of public parks and statues in the state of UP by Chief Minister Mayawati is continuing as we speak.

Casteist Indians and hindus cannot stand the growth and progress of Mayawati. It is in their blood and mind to just twist everything that happens around Mayawati and what she does to the state of UP or India for that matter.
If the very basic thoughts of the caste infected Indians are fundamentally corrupt, truncated and utterly pathological, how can you expect rationality in hindu Indians or any other casteists in India,
you simply cannot expect them to be either rational or conscious of reality.
So, the debate continues, pages and pages of editorials, news reports and reviews about Mayawati’s statue buildings. But, she must continue to carry on her plans, do not give up to this casteistic news morons, nor do you give up even when the central govt forces you. As long as you stay within the legal means, dear Mayatiji, go ahead, build as many parks, as many statues and as many museums possible.

Isn’t this same nation, where temples and hindu religious buildings occupy the third of the nations lands and resources?, is in’t this same country where billions and billions of India’s wealth has been wasted in the name of hindu temples and what not?. Did anyone raise the temple issue, no…why would they?.

It is after all tax payers money, their grandpa and grandma’s country?. Isn’t it?.

Anyways, while the whole of casteist country is fuming and boiling to take a shot at Mayawatiji and her politics, that also includes mind dead Dalits and even some so called dalit activists talk against Mayawati’s statue building, a more rational, scholar and an intellectual Prof Vivek Kumar provides a great insight about Mayawti’s park and recreation building…….!

Dalit massacre accused acquitted due to lack of evidence

Patna, (Bihar Times): A trial court in Jehanabad on Saturday acquitted all the 10 accused in the Narayanpur massacre case in the district in which 11 Dalits were shot dead by the banned Ranvir Sena on February 10, 1999.

Additional district and sessions judge, Jehanabad, Shambhu Nath Mishra, acquitted them as the prosecution failed to establish the charge against the accused beyond reasonable doubt. Five of the 11 Dalits killed in the incident, were women.

The Narayanpur bloodbath was preceded by another massacre enacted by Ranvir Sena. On January 25, 1999, when the then President K R Narayanan, was delivering a Republic Day eve speech, 24 men and women were gunned down by this upper caste private army in Shankarbigha village of the same district. One of the victims, who was in the family way, was shot in the womb. The Ranvir Sena openly took the responsibility by issuing a Press release to the media.

Brilliante and Premier Dardos Awards

One of the two joys of blogging has been to meet people that one would not have met in real life, or at least the probability of meeting would have been very low. The other is that one sometimes gets pleasantly surprised.

Two long time readers of this blog have been nice enough to award it with two blog awards recently- Jack Stephens awarded the Brilliante Weblog Award and Renegade Eye, the Premier Dardos Award. As per the rules, I am listing some of the blogs that I find very invigorating and are fellow travelers in the sense of their intellectual and humanistic concerns. Also, all of the them, with the exception of one, are India/ Pakistan centric blogs.

Brilliante Award:
Upliftthem: For its single minded focus on Dalit issues. This was the first blog I discovered when searching for critical blogs on caste.

Ghazala: Ghazala writes on ’subversive poetry’- from that of the Harlem Renaissance to progressive poetry Urdu. My only complain is that this blog has long dormancy.

Written Encounters: Fawad brings out (along with Raza Rumi) the quintessentially shared culture between Pakistan and India.

Parchanve: The only blog that I read in Punjabi. Jasdeep brings out contemporary Punjabi poetry and often renders them into excellent English.

Dispatches from Zembla: Alok blogs on films and books. I particularly look to his blog when it comes to anything from Austria or Russia.

Sc/St Reservation Bill 2008 is an Academic Untouchablity of India?

Following Huge Protests all accross India and abroad, the Bill will be modified and amended before the bill goes to next approval?.

Subject: The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation in Posts and Services) Bill 2008- An attempt to debar the SC/ST community from higher education.  Respected Sir/Madam,  With reference to above mentioned subject, we people of India would like to bring the

following facts in your kind notice for necessary and immediate action: As you are aware that SC/ST      representation in teaching posts in the Central       Universities, IITs, IIMs, NITs      and other Institutes of higher education is negligible even after 62 years      of independence of India.

First time in the year 2005, the Govt. of India, MHRD vide their order No.      6-30/2005 U-5 dated 6th       December, 2005 has directed the UGC to implement the SC/ST      reservation on teaching posts in Central       Universities and Institutes      which are deemed to be Universities receiving grants from Govt. of India.      Consequently, the UGC directed all the Central       Universities and other      Institutes to implement the SC/ST reservation on all the teaching posts      such as Lecturer, Reader and      Professor and by whatever other nomenclature the posts are known The policy guidelines      mentioned in Para 1 above are in infant stage and      being formulated to implement by the Central Universities. In the same      time the Govt. of India is going to pass ‘The Scheduled Castes and  Scheduled Tribes (Reservation in Posts      and Services) Bill 2008’ in the Parliament, whose only objective is to      exclude the SC/ST community from the premier and resourceful institutes of      higher education in the country.  The most disappointing parts      of the above said bill are clause (iii) and clause (iv) of subsection (1)      of section 4 according to which there is no reservation to posts higher  than the lowest grade of group      ‘A’ posts and classified as scientific and technical post; and to posts      higher than the lowest grade of group ‘A’ posts in institutions of      national importance and Indian Institutes of Management specified in the      Schedule. It means that there will be no SC/ST teacher in Central      Universities, IITs NITs etc. (total 47 educational institutes in Schedule  at      present and more can be added). Therefore, section (4) of the bill is      against to the existing reservation policy mentioned in Para      1 above and that will result in bad to worse condition of SC/ST community      in higher education. The Banaras       Hindu University      itself has around 2300 teaching posts. As an average all the 47 institutes      mentioned in the Schedule have twenty three thousand and five hundred      (47×500 = 23500) teaching posts and as per the recommendations of Sixth      Pay commission, all of them are above the lowest grade of group ‘A’. Thus      around 5287 posts, out of which many could be filled by the SC/ST      candidates, are being exempted from the preview of reservation. It is worth to mention      that there is no representation of the members of SC/ST community in the      Executive Boards and Selection Committees constituted for the recruitment      of teachers in higher educational institutes. History is evident that the      candidates belonging to SC/ST category were ignored by the selection      committees when they apply under general category. Further, due to      negligible representation of SC/ST candidates on teaching posts, the SC/ST      students face lot of difficulties in completing their projects and Ph.D.      etc; and welfare scheme for SC/ST students do not run successfully in the  Central       Universities and      IITs.    In the present bill,      nothing has been mentioned about the ban on de-reservation and panel  action against the defaulter      officers. Moreover, in this bill all the existing provisions for SC/ST      reservation on teaching posts in Central Universities and other Higher      Educational Institutes mentioned in Para 1 above have been weaken.      Therefore, section (4) of this bill is more or less a ban to enter the      SC/ST candidates into the higher education.  In the light of the present      form of this bill, the objective of the reservation can never be met and      this will loose the confidence of SC/ST community. A lot of deliberations  are      required on this bill and Section (4) along with Schedule of the bill is      absolutely not required.  You are therefore, humbly requested for the following necessary action in the matter:  Remove the Section 4 with Schedule of the bill with.  Include appropriate provision in the bill to stop caste based discrimination with the SC/ST candidates during the interviews for selection.   With kind regards.   (Subhash C. Arya)

A few weeks ago I read a reference to a book on Indo-Aryan languages.

I found the book in the University library and was immediately struck by the entry on Pāli. Pāli, the book says, is essentially a western Middle Ind0-Aryan dialect.

This raised a number of questions for me if only because the Buddha lived in the East of India. So what was going on?

So it seems that the mystery is solved and ironically that the Theravāda legends were right all the time. Pāli is Māgadhī. Although over the years the written form of Pāli has been Sanskritised. This was partly under the influence of Sanskrit inspired Pāli grammar texts from Burma. We do know that Pāli continued to evolve because Buddhaghosa's Pāli is noticeably different from the language of the suttas.

In India however, even after more than 3000 years of the creation and practice of human discrimination such as the Caste system, a religious rule of law "Manu" sanctioned social system, dalits [the victims] in India continued to suffer and being sabotaged in every walk of life by hindus [though India does not mean hindus the world was made to believe this way, the world community and people world wide still think and have this peanut size knowledge that India is a hindu nation?.

Neither the law enacted to protect and promote the progress of dalits is properply executed by the concerned officials nor the people of India seems to have developed any better humanity and insight over the hundreds or thousands of years to treat fellow humans equally.

India is full of inequality created by the brahminical invaders of India, who created the hindu religion, a merely 10% of the descendents of a barbaric, clowns made the rest of 80-90% of the descendents of the original Indians, aboriginals and dravidians, made them all or pushed them all into hindu category, utterly brainstormed the society to divide into thousands of categories, sub-categories of humans living in seggregation into a caste and caste system, this fragile system has put more than half of India into miserable and poverty ridden conditions, they do not have enough food to eat and basic facilities to live and do not have clothes to wear, the whole world is procrastinating to the less than 3% of the millionaires, billionaires hindu or caste infected Indians and proclaim India is the super power and all those bullshit. Half of the billion plus population lives in utter poverty, and you call this nation a super power?. What a moron you are?.

There is no proper roads to villages, no proper electricity to villages and no proper water facility to live or to cultivate their lands in villages, and you are proclaiming to touch the moon, what a moron and what a fucking scientist you are to work in nuclear facility or a aerospace facility and proclaim you are state of the art?.

What is the latest in the investigations taking place in the Mumbai terror plot? A report from Ground Zero by RANA AYYUB

INVESTIGATIONS INTO the November 26 Mumbai attacks continue to reveal new facets. In his confession, captured terrorist Kasav has stated that not just he but the other nine terrorists killed are Pakistani nationals, a fact confirmed by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, members of which interrogated Kasav, Crime Branch sources say. Kasav has also named his trainers, all members of the Lashkar-e- Tayyeba (LeT) front, the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, including its head, Hafiz Sayeed.

Right from Kasav’s statement to the material recovered from the trawler, Kuber, which the terrorists hijacked on their way to Mumbai, there has been enough evidence of the involvement of Pakistan-based extremist organisations and their leaders in the attack. Pakistan, however, claims that it has not been provided such proof, thereby giving it grounds to take no specific action against terror outfits on its soil. Finally, though, international pressure appears to have compelled President Asif Ali Zardari to say, in an interview to Newsweek, that non-state actors were indeed his responsibility. Although he categorically denied that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was involved in the attack or with the LeT, he did say that nobody would be allowed to use Pakistani soil for any kind of aggression on a friend.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has rejected India's demand to hand over LeT chief Hafiz Mohd Sayeed and other fugitives in the wake of Mumbai terror attacks and doubted whether the arrested terrorist is a Pakistani national.Two days after New Delhi's demarche (protest note) demanding the handing over of 20 fugitives, Zardari made known Pakistan's reluctance to part with them.
"If we had proof, we would try them in our courts. We would try them in our land and we would sentence them," he said appearing on a television show on Tuesday night.

As we saw last week in Mumbai, political and religious divisions in the world's largest democracy make our disagreements seem tame by comparison. So when Obama named economist Sonal Shah to his transition team, the unifier invited division.

Barack Obama’s victory in the U. S. presidential election warmed the hearts of millions around the world. When Jesse Jackson wept, I cried too. I had worked for Jackson’s campaign in 1988. With Jackson’s defeat came the long hibernation of American progressivism. Obama’s victory awoke that tradition. A few days later Obama began to announce his transition team. The names were not from the progressive tradition, but from the more cautious, even conservative side of the Democratic Party. In the list I saw the name Sonal Shah.

That day, I wrote an essay for counterpunch.org calling attention to Sonal Shah’s affiliations with various Hindutva groups. In this viral age, essays such as this leave their locales and take on a life of their own. This one created a little kerfuffle. People excited by the Obama victory and by the ascension of an Asian American to a position of authority were miffed that I had rained on their parade. Some claimed that I had stooped to the Sarah Palin tactic of guilt by association.

Just because her parents are closely affiliated with the Hindutva groups does not mean she is associated with them, they said. I agree. Sonal Shah released a statement against “baseless and silly reports” on the Internet. She forthrightly pointed out that her “personal politics have nothing in common with the views espoused by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) or any such organization.” The VHP and the RSS are well known to spread hate and to have participated in ghastly acts of violence within India against Muslims, Christians, and oppressed castes, not to speak of spreading the general misogyny that their ideology preaches.

We write this Petition from India, and from other countries, regarding a member of your Transition team, Ms Sonal Shah.
Observations:

1. Ms. Sonal Shah's record as an economist and a philanthropic activist is well-known. She is highly respected by former and current colleagues and is, according to testimony of people who have worked with her both in India and the USA, a kind and thoughtful person. We are proud that a person of Indian origin is part of the preparation team for the historic presidency of Mr. Barack Obama.

2. Our concern is with her connections to some Indian politicians and "social organisations" who publicly argue that Hindu culture is the highest ideal and must dominate civil life in India. Some of the groups which she is loosely associated with, such as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) have been proven to undertake violent campaigns against religious minorities in India.

3. We welcome her clear statement on Nov. 11, 2008 (http://www.asianamericansforobama.com/statement-by-sonal-shah-transition-board-member-for-president-elect-barack-obama) that she despises "politics of division, of ethnic or religious hatred, of violence and intimidation as a political tool" and that she doesn't share the views of the VHP and RSS.

4. However, we remained concerned because of credible media and civil society reports within India which express deep concern over Ms. Shah's true allegiances. These are not accusations produced out of spite or a desire for the politics of innuendo. Instead, they were sparked and launched after RSS and VHP leaders celebrated Ms. Shah's appointment and claimed her as their own.

5. Her links with Chief Minister Narendra Modi of Gujarat are understandable but disturbing. Mr. Modi is the political leader of Ms. Shah's home state and a prominent leader in India so her association with him is understandable. However, he is one of the few political leaders anywhere in the world to be banned from entering the United States under the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA) of 1998. Again, RSS and VHP sources within India say her appointment will be a step towards restoring Mr. Modi's visa to the USA.

6. Lastly, as a founder of the non-government organisation Indicorps, we are worried that Ms. Shah is apparently denying documented proof that the funds given in the USA have been misused within India by IDRF, an organisation which Indicorps is affiliated with, to further a rightwing Hindu ideology. 7. Even todate, media reports quote VHP-America general secretary, Gaurang Vaishnav & independent sources stating that Ms. Shah was the National Project Coordinator of the VHPA and on its governing council. Her father Ramesh Shah, 64, is a vice-president in Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) and her mother Kokilaben, 62, is OFBJP's chapter coordinator for Houston. Modi is reportedly impressed by Indicorps, the voluntary organisation started by the Shah siblings - Sonal, Roopal and Anand. So, all the world has to do is wait & watch.

Requests

1. We ask Ms. Shah and the Obama staff to issue a clear statement about her opinion on the visa issue for Mr. Modi.

2. We also ask that Ms. Shah & the Obama staff make clear her & her family links with the VHP and other such communal organizations. The world needs to know their stand, now that her statement in the link above, has now proved to be false.

3. Beyond condemning the views of Hindu nationalist groups, we urge Ms. Shah to publicly acknowledge the need for justice and rehabilitation for the victims of rapes and ethnic cleansing in Orissa (2007-2008) and Gujarat (2002) which were carried out by rightwing Hindu activists.

4. We are worried and disconcerted that Ms. Shah appears not to have been fully vetted before she was placed on Mr. Obama's transition panel. We request Obama officials or staff to publicly clarify their determination not to endorse future links between the Obama Presidency and India's VHP and RSS or other such sectarian groups.

Indian Govt ordered to block Blogspot and other blog sites?, Is this a democratic country?

DoT orders Internet Service Providers to block only the specified webpages/websites

The Department of Telecom (DoT) has instructed all the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the country to block only the specified website/webpages on the parent website. The DoT, in its letter issued to all the ISPs has mentioned that it had come to notice that in some cases the parent website had been blocked in contravention to what was stated in its earlier order dated 13th July 2006 whereby it ordered the ISPs to block certain websites/webpages.

As such the DoT has now directed all the ISPs to strictly comply with the order dated 13th July 2006 and provide unhindered access to Internet except for the websites/webpages which have been specifically mentioned in its orders issued from time to time.

The DoT has further sought explanation from the erring ISPs as to why action be not taken against them for blocking unintended websites/webpages.

Andrew J.Bacevich's "THE LIMITS OF POWER (Book to Read)

Few weeks ago I watched Bill Moyer's show on PBS in which Moyer interviewed the author of "The Limits of Power", Andrew J.Bacevich's.
First of Bill Moyer's (see the link at the bottom) show on PBS is one of the few TV shows one can watch and learn something true and important about America, about American issues, problems and the rationale behind issues on topics such as the ongoing war that we are in and the economic crisis that is growing every day?.

Bacevich, a great intellectual with extensive knowledge and prior work experience in the US govt, probably in most powerful senior govt positions, his book on "The limits of Power" is a must read for anyone who wants to learn more about why and how the self imposed American Imperialism brought more war to American than peace!?. "Looooooooooooooooooong war but no peace"which is making the so called "imperialism" crumble like how Russia was shattered from it's so called superpower to superdoomed?.

He talked about how we got here into this long war, why it is both irrational and self-defeating?. His language, comprehension is quite scholarly and quite renewing to the reader when compared to those thousands of junkie books released every day.

TOI Editorial, second exceptional Editorial in just a month time, is it real?

I can't imagine something good is happening in Times of India editorial board. Just in two months, two exceptional editorial, completely truthful and making so much sense than their 80% of rubbish writings, half naked womans and politicians picturs in TOI.

Atleast for now, the editorial has some sign of change, did the editor booted out and a new editor has been appointed or something happened to the current editor, he/she realized to write truthful editorials?.

Here is the editorial about BJP leaders and their unlawful presence in meetings that is simply the height of arrogance and stupidity. An Indian Movie that looks like a Hollywood Moive?

Here in Upliftthem, I do not waste space or time for Indian movies or in general for movies or the people in the movie world unless and unlike their acting, if the actor in real life happend to be a good humanist, socialist who in real life help suffering people, then I would, earlier I wrote about Jet Li, Scarlet for their philanthropy and support for poor people.

This is a different kind, something that is so striking as the following movie, it deserves to be mentioned if not reviewed.

Slumdog Millionaire, this new movie trailor is posted on the yahoo and on other internet sites, it is all over the internet by now.

I just watched the "Trailor", for the first time ever and for the very first time, I felt like watching a Indian movie Trailor on the internet. Previously there was not a single Indian movie trailor that was of any interest to me or there was none that generated some interest to watch but this one, this one is something, because the quality and the way it was made actually speaks for itself when you watch you may discover. Ofcourse, it talks about slum people (the most oppressed of all in India, that alone deserves to be mentioned, it is not clear if any of these people acted were from slum (a genuine director and producer must make efforts to employ and give opportunities to slum people when they make movie about them?)

I am inserting this embed here for readers because of the quality. So far, I never felt any hindi or tamil or any language movies from India, the trailor was even watchable or of any quality.

The brutal clash between two groups of students of the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law College in Chennai on Wednesday evening would have left everyone shocked and shaken.
There was really a bloodbath and students armed with deadly weapons like knives, iron rods, wooden logs and tubelights attacking each other, leaving four students grievously injured ,one of them critical with head injury.
The 90- minute violent incident took place on the campus of the College, right in front of a large posse of police personnel who remained mute witness through out the entire murderous assault. Even as photo journalists who were clicking every bit of action pleaded with the police to rush in for rescue of the affected, their cries fell on deaf ears (Chennai Online.com)

Two hurt in Chennai student clashes

Chennai, Nov 12 : Two law students were seriously injured following a clash between two groups at the Madras High Court campus here Wednesday evening, police said.

"The clash apparently occurred after groups of students disagreed over the contents of invitation cards printed for a political event. Police pickets have been posted at the site to prevent further clashes. The situation is under control," a police official said.

Returning after an examination, the groups set upon each other with clubs as a motley bunch of police personnel watched helplessly, witnesses said.

Rival student groups clash in Chennai

Chennai, Nov 13 : Three people were seriously injured as two rival groups of students clashed in Chennai on Wednesday evening.

A group of students wielding iron rods and sticks entered the campus of Ambedkar Law College in the city, and beat up some students coming out after taking their examination.

The students were brutally beaten up by the group inside the college campus.

Let me thank the Ecademy for focusing on this news, let me also thank Sadiq and others who brought this burning Buddhist conversion of dalits issue into this groups discussion board. I hope the public and concerned people will learn the facts before getting confused about this conversion.

First of all why conversion should be alarming to anybody or is it?.

Second, is it really a conversion or going back to their origin?.

Third, who in India and abroad possibly should be concerned about this conversion?.

All these questions needs to be asked and answered before getting concerned.

The "Dalits"-the so called Untouchables (as per the hindu Varna or religious doctrine, which is nothing but mythical, barbaric and mostly illogic practices is full of human discrimination and extremists views) are the native Indians. Majority of the groups among dalits like the Paraiyars in Tamil Nadu and so many other dalit groups in Tamil Nadu and all over India are natives of India. To the most part these dalits once were the original land owners who were involved in cultivation and agriculture as well trade in the ancient India. These were the native Indians to whom India belongs but today it is all skewed, mutilated and taken away by hindus.

The most widely read and regarded Washington Post and New York times endorsed Obama and supporting his policies.

Last week Washington Post wrote a stunningly straightforward and truthful editorial about Obama, his charector, his strengths and expectations etc., it concluded Obama can be the greatest President in American History atleast they said, he has the potential to be the greatest, fair enough and good enough.

The N.Y.Times however is much more elaborate (3page editorial), detailed and truthful about the reality of our times. The N.Y.Times riped McCain and Bush much more than the Washington Times, but both these news papers atleast in this one issue (about Obama for President) were incredebly truthful and their accounts of why they like Obama as president is utterly fascinating writing. Hat's off to both Post and Times for such honest perspective.

This following hindu Liar who runs the "Hindu council of UK" is all but sabotagery of truth about how the caste system evolved and preached by the hindus?. Compounding one atrocity committed in the name of religion (Caste) with another atrocity still being committed in the name of religion (Conversion).

Yesterday the undersigned was invited by Premier Christian Radio to participate in a debate with Sam Paul senior member of the All India Christian Council on the issue of caste and conversion. This is a very topical issue. Recently a couple of mainstream TV programmes have also focused on the issue of the outcastes or dalits in India.

My response was very clear. Hereditary hierarchical caste system is NOT Hinduism. It is an atrocity committed in the name of Hinduism and as such we condemn it in harshest terms. The only mention on what can be called the idea of ‘caste’ in the scriptures of authority of Hinduism is a mention in the Rig Veda that the aptitude of a person must be taken into account to decide what role he should play in society. There is no mention of a hereditary or hierarchical caste system. The undersigned had to fight the education system in this country to ensure that such misconceptions about Hinduism are not taught or paraded as Hinduism in the education system.

In India, discrimination and atrocity afflicted on the innocent dalits does not stop even in natural calamity.

While the nature itself does not know any color, creed or caste and it causes havoc all over to all Indians the same way.......,

....what follows after a disaster is a much more huge disaster that is overlooked by the world. Any time there is such a huge loss of human lives, properties and loss of homes,the rescuers and officials who work in these disaster areas cause more suffering by sabotaging the rescue effort, stealing the supplies and support available and take it to the upper castes, ignoring the real and desperate help seekers, the dalits.

How?, the aid workers and officials are casteists, more supply and support goes to the caste people and no or abysmal support reaches the dalits, the hungry and suffering hardly get their due from the government or from the international support send to them, it does not reach the right people.

When the worst disasters of disasters ever known to Indians "Tsunami" heppaned few years ago,

it devastated Indians, dalits got the worst of it all.

But, they were abandoned and betrayed by all the international aid that where sent to India, dalits where provided shelter but if one would look very carefully, the caste people were provided shelter safely on upper floors and all the dalits where put into the ground floor, if and when another flood hits due to Tsunami, they will be get killed and washed out first, if it all the flood reaches higher limits, the caste people still have a greater chances to live happily ever after killing dalits?.

And may I add that similar was the situation in Tamil Nadu following the tsumani. I was in Nagapatinum district (the worst affaceted district in terms on numbers of deaths) to cordinate and ensure the measles vaccination and Vitamin A campaign for TN. The discrimation was hidden in many relief camps in the district unless you investigate keeping the caste discrimination in the mind.
.................in one relief camps I learnt that on the day when tsunami struck, the college administation had refused to open their gates to people for shelter as they belonged to villages which had high number of dalits. In another instance of a relief camp in school, when one visits - every thing appears fine. On close obeservation, I learned that ground floor camp inmates were all dalits and on the first floor were brahmins. Why? because in case of another tsumani attack, the dalits will be washed away (die) first.

Everytime a truck with relief material come, it will go to a place where untouchables cant go and cant stand in queue for receiving those aids.

The aids sent to those area were sent from all over the state, country and world irrespective of any caste considerations.

Unfortunately the bundled sent from Gujart state were getting a tag of one political party.

Although i have heard similar incidents, I have a lot of faith in DR JS Rajkumar from a personal experience.

Infact we had good experience twice involving major cancer operations.

My mother Saraswathi was operated upon by Dr JS Rajkumar at Rigid hospital 9 years ago for a cancer in the food pipe involving the lower part near the stomach.

We consulted many surgeons before going to DR Rajkumar . Those doctors dilly dallyed a lot and were referring to many other places for investigations, tests, CT scan etc. nobody could give us a guarantee about the success of the operation.We were happy to find everything under one roof at Rigid hospital as my mother could not travel much and they got her ready for the operation very quickly. our duration of further waiting and anxiety was shortened.We explained our situation to the billing department that we may not be able to pay mucn as we had already spent a lot. They said dr had already told them to reduce the package as my mother was suffering for quite some time.

The operation went on smoothly. Dr removed the lower part of food pipe and upper part of stomach and re joined it.

After the operation my mother could not eat for some time. we were all worried about the tube in her nose. slowly the swelling in her stomach came down and she was given water. she stayed in hospital for two weeks. at one stage dr said we may consider operating again if the swelling did not reduce. but it reduced with monitoring after a few days. By god's grace she was fine eating normally and put on weight. we were all happy. Dr further reduced our bill when we went home at our request. we regularly went to him for follow up for some time and then stopped.

this year after 9 years we found that my mother had cancer in the mouth and it had spread to her neck ( lymph node). many of our well wishers and family friends said we had to go to cancer specialist. so we visited 2 specialists. both were good surgeons who said the old cancer had not recurred and this was a new cancer.but they were afraid to operate on her as due to her advancing age ( she is above 60 now).

my mother lost faith and refused to see any doctors and the surgery.

a doctor who is a surgeon himself near my house in mogappair suggested we go back to dr rajkumar to take an opinion as dr rajkumar was being invited internationally to demonstrate surgeries..

we met him at his new hospital at perungudi . dr rajkumar remembered my mother's name and was upset to know she had another cancer. the operation would be complex he explained and required long operation to remove the cancer both from the mouth and the neck.only sir could convince my mother easily for the operation. the operation took 4 hours. the cancer was removed from both places and a temporary plate was placed in the mouth to cover the hole after taking the cancer out. after some time it was removed once the hole closed. she is on follow up with the medical cance specialist and doing well.(touch wood). we know that dr goes to both rigid and lifeline nowadays. he is a busy man because so many patients come to him from all over India and abroad for help.

it was difficult to meet him many times . so when we used to phone him he used to come and visit at night 1130,

twelve etc to see my mother after finishing his evening consultation. once we explained that we may not afford the operation and asked him to do the operation in 2 stages - one for the mouth and another for the neck.

he said he cannot compromise care. so he did both stages in one setting ( 4 hours ) for same charge. for a few days he went abroad after my mother's operaion during which time his assistant doctors took good care of my mother and got opinions from sir over phone.

I have also heard of bad stories about sir. I do not know how it happened.but still went to him.

I really feel sorry for their relatives. trusting a doctor comes only with experience. we have good experiences twice involving high risk complicated operations with good result.

I know I am not alone in this opinion.

In Tamil Movies you do not happen to see an ?Hero actor sending a mob of thugs and goondas to unlease barbaric attack on another actor who is a comedian.

Well, it just happened in real life, in this case it seems to be a comedian's house?.

The so called Vijaykanth, supposed to be an actor who turned into a politician recently sent 40 rowdies to attack a fine and reputed comedian in Tamil Nadu,

Vadivelu, quite a talented and well accepted comedian in the state of TN.

Though the exact background behind such animosity or vengence

in this attack is not clear, (there are couple of theories floating at the moment

1.Obnoxious car parking, voilating to give any rooms for the other drivers and residents of the neighbourhood during Vijayakanth's visit to his sister's house located in the same area where Vadivelu lives??There was some fights on this parking violation a year ago it seems??.
2. According to some reports, Vijayakanth asked Vadivelu to portray Vijayakanth in his commedy scens as a Chief Minister for which Vadivelu declined to do so?, seems to be a good reason why the actor got upset??, or 3.All those Vijayakant's folk and himself spreading a propoganda that Vadivelu is a scapegoat, MK is using him or provoking Vadivelu to go against VK??

what a joke?). This does not sound any valid reason one will go to extent of conspire to kill????The real reason or cause of this goondaism of Vijayakanth is not clear at this juncture.

Nevertheless, no conscious Tamilian will tolerate such a barbaric thoughts of attacking a fellow actor or any other individual Tamilian let alone an actor, we are all damn human beings whether actor/cheif minister or whatever, just humans.

No one has any right to attack another human in a civilized world, there are legal pathways one can persue to correct if there are issues?.

The other reason not reported or not uttered by anyone or any newspaper is the caste stupidity, Tamilians/hindus are well known for believing in caste filth?. Even among the dalits (so many damn sub-caste groups, they behave like cat and mouse, kill each other in the name of caste beliefs).

Is there any such vengence in this case is not clear?. IsVijayakanth a casteist or barbaric hindu believer,

there are news he uttered about he is a Gandhian, hindu and all those bullshits...but again it is too early to say if he is casteistic in his approach, will update soon.

Only time can tell us what is the real cause of Vijayakanth and Vadivelu's fight in Chennai?.

Chennai: Tamil comedian Vadivelu on Sunday filed a complaint against actor-turned-politician Vijaykanth alleging a conspiracy after his residence and office here were stoned by a group of people, police said.
"Vadivelu has cited actor Vijaykanth and 30 others as conspirators in his complaint," Chennai police commissioner R Sekar said.

Mabbas!, What is so wrong about the star publishing this news on Independence Day? while India to the most part is not free from caste discrimination, corruption, rape, poverty and so many other debilitating pathology that is ongoing.

What is wrong in writing about a discrimination that is strongly stems from the very religious scriptures and practices of hindus that has destroyed growth and well being of India for centuries and centuries, if humans are discriminated in the name of a ruthless and meaningless caste system,

it should be exposed on the day of Independence or republic or any day. What is the big deal about minority leaders kept in the parliment, they are after all puppets, do not make any ground breaking changes to policies neither do they contribute to any rules or making of rules anyways.

President of India does not have much to say other than decorating podiums and meetings, and sign some papers that go to their office?. India still is a poverty ridden nation, half of the people are tortured by this hindu religious caste system and do not get any opportunity to lead life by a job or by a decent upbringing because the hindus treat them as animals and say they do not have merits?.

What the heck is merit when the very basic humanity is not available in their mind set.

Kendrapara, Jan 15 ( Odisha.in) The remains of a Buddha vihar along with some stone images of Lord Ganesh and others were unearthed from a cremation ground in village Palei 15 km from here on Sunday.

"The unearthed Buddhist monastery had perhaps been built in 8th century AD under the active royal patronage and propagation of a Buddhist king of Bhaumakura dynasty flourished within 8th to 11th, century AD in Orissa.

But, in 12th century, Hindu Rajas of Somabanshi and Gangs of Orissa were anti- Buddhism and pro- Bramahanical who could have possible demolished the Buddhist monastery at Palei and constructed a Shiva or Mahakala temple on the ruins of the Buddha vihar.

Stupid!, Mail Today carried the story on the masthead, but here are the contents of a mail - no, not libellous!

Penpricks, a blog run by an anonymous journalist, supposedly from Goa has taken major newspapers in the country for a ride. Though the blog penpricks.blogspot.com has been promising to break the story soon, a Reuters blog has snatched its scoop!

This blogger by name "Pen Pricks?" writes about how the Indian Media salivated to publish news about recent avoidable and inhuman murders in India by publishing without any consiousness, standards, truths or ethics. Oh what are these things........!, oh well, for Indian media truth and ethical standards are alien and do not even worry to think along this line.....!.

Here is the Pen Pricks frank news and how did it catch a wild fire among Indian shit head journalists and the news papers. Read it yourself and judge?

As journalists, we are ashamed at the way the Indian media reported the two most sensational murders in recent times. These tragedies virtually grabbed the attention of Western and Northern regions of India. Its the murders of Scarlett Keeling at Anjuna, Goa and Arushi Talwar in NOIDA, near Delhi we are talking about.

While initially, the media did play a role in bringing police incompetency to the fore in these two cases, they completely went hell-for-leather subsequently.

I I always said Politics is a garbage, or to be very precisely said that the 21st century politicians coverted the good governance into a garbage? I do not know this the reason why lots of people do not show any interest anymore.......nor our young generation exhibit any interest in politics.

Right now in the history of American politics, people from all walks of life enormously tuned their ears and mouths to political debates, discussion and writings. While the mainstrema media is still the same garbage, the alternative blogs/sites and independent internet writers are providing great political news..............a friend of mine recently asked me if I check "Daily Kose".com?. I said no...., because I was not aware of a single good place to go read some sensible and rationale analysis of what goes on in the US politics, then, after hearing from my friend, I had visited this site www.dailykos.com, infact the exact phrase my friend used about this blog "the bible of democratic news", he sounded jublient and passionate about this blog. To my surprise, it is actually a great place to read about today's politics, especially democratic party news, especially Obama news. The owner of this website is doing what he has to do to America, to tell them the truth withour any truncation, I like the analysis, information, knowledge and critics from this blog. Bandit Queen?: Is Bandit Queen my Best Film ever?, Shekhar Kapur writes!

Shekhar Kapur, a filmaker and director of the movie "Bandit Queen that portrayed the true life story of "Phoolan Devi", writes in his blog about if this is the best film ever, I must say to Sekhar Kapoor that this is the best film you have ever made so far and it will be a great challenge to you to make another movie that can be anywhere close to this masterpiece for many reasons.

In any case, your courage and integrity to tell the obnoxious hindus and Indians about how terrible our society because of caste system and discrimination deserves great appreciation, such works bring insights into people who do not understand the society well or less well educated about their own country and people. Yes, it is one of the greatest Indian film, in my view it is a real story and real life except it was done by actors.

Is Bandit Queen my best film ?
Certainly more people have seen the two Elizabeth's, Massom and Mr India. However the following were the director's notes attached to the DVD that were written in a tearing hurry. The Independent newspaper, in the UK, however, decided to publish my notes as a full page review of the film ! And so I read my notes again. Sometimes when you write under pressure, as I did this piece - your own words surprise you with their honesty. I am sharing the notes with you :
"When a Directors reflects on his body of work there is always a film that stands out as his personal favourite. Often that impression is coloured by the experience during the filming. But when the 'on set' experience is astounding and results in a film that survives years that have passed. When the film has been etched in the political consciousness of the people that watched it. When a film has caused a social re-evaluation. When a film has been at the centre of a political storm and caused an uproar in India's parliament. What can a Director say, but that this was my most defining film - one that I would find very very difficult to surpass.....
Bandit Queen was first banned by the censor board in India, not so much for it's language and the acute and frank depiction of the humiliation and brutality of rape, but mostly for it's politics. Where a society and a government controlled by the higher caste's saw this film as a potentially subversive film that could lead to political disruption.
And it did. Phoolan Devi, who's life the main character in this film depicts, was freed from prison, came out and formed her own political party representing the lower castes, galvanized oppressed women to vote for her, and won a seat in India's parliament. All of this after the film was released.

It is CANADA'S turn now to Apologise to Indians?

As a leading Indian scholar, Ambedkar had been invited to testify before the Southborough Committee, which was preparing the Government of India Act 1919. At this hearing, Ambedkar argued for creating separate electorates and reservations for Dalits and other religious communities.

In 1920, he began the publication of the weekly Mooknayak (Leader of the Silent) in Bombay. This Journal became very popular and Ambedkar used this journal to criticize the orthodox Hindu politicians. Through the columns of this journal, Ambedkar launched a frontal attack against the reluctance of the Indian political community at that time to fight against the evil of caste discrimination. His speech at a Depressed Classes Conference in Kolhapur in 1920 impressed the local state ruler Shahu IV, who shocked orthodox society by dining with Ambekdar.
